m±, '- - <br />CULTURAL AC'TIVITIES COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OI,MSTED <br />MINUTES FOR JULY 6, 2011 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Chairman Yusticlc called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. at the Frostville Museum. <br />Present: Beverle Martindale, David Wahl, Gerald Yustick, Barbara Schirhart <br />Absent: Barbaxa Brown, Nasreen Starner, Miguel Cora <br />Also present: Planning and Development Director Kimberly Wenger, Councilman Paul <br />Schumann <br />YZEVIEW AND COIZRECTION OF 1VIINUTES <br />Ms. Martindale moved, seconded by Mr. Wahl, to approve the June 1, 2011 minutes, which <br />was approved 4-0. <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />Olmsted Festival of the Arts <br />Mr. Wahl said the committee received a few more sponsorships and artist and non-profit <br />applications. He received an artist entry from Andrea Downie, who paints gourds. Photographs <br />of her worlc were reviewed and all members agreed to accept the entry. <br />Mr. Schumann said the sponsorship funds raised could be used for t-shirts as well as signage. He <br />will look into the cost of festival t-shirts with the Olmsted Festival logo on the front and names <br />and/or logos of the major sponsors on the back. The shirts would be distributed to musicians and <br />artists, as well as committee and OHS members. <br />The Committee will next meet on Thursday, July 21 at 6:00 p.m. at the Frostville Museum. <br />Dover Players <br />Ms. Martindale said that the latest Dover Players production, Two Pails of Water, would be <br />performed the last three weelcends in July. The first performance date is already sold out. The <br />play is a comedy and will be of interest to people of all ages. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Cuyahoga Arts & Culture <br />Ms. Wenger said that she and Chelsea Schumann attended the Cuyahoga Arts and Culture Intent <br />to Apply Workshop on June 30. Based upon the guidelines for the project support money, she <br />recommended applying on behalf of the Olmsted Historical Society rather than the Kiwanis Club <br />of North Olmsted. The mission of the OHS makes them an eligible applicant. The group
