CULTURAL ACTIVITIES COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MEETING MINUTES OF APRIL 6, 2011 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Chair Yustick called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. at the North Olmsted Branch Library. <br />Present: John Kepperley, Beverle Martindale, David Wahl, Gerald Yustick, <br />Absent: , Nasreen Starner, Miguel Cora and Barbara Brown <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />Mr. Kepperley moved, seconded by Mr. Wahl, to approve the March 2, 2011 minutes, <br />which was approved 4-0. <br />OLD SUSINESS <br />Olmsted Festival of the Arts <br />Mr. Kepperley said he received three applications by artists for Olmsted Festival of the Arts. <br />Each of the artists applications were reviewed, the art media being submitted were metal work, <br />woodworking and painting/woodwork. Three hundred sponsor letters were sent out and of those <br />only ten letters were undeliverable. Manor Care signed up to be a logo sponsor, and two patron <br />sponsors were received. The commissioners voiced their delight over the quick responses to <br />participate and sponsor the event. Mr. Kepperley said the majority of funds raised will go to <br />Bowling Green Arts Enterprise. The Kiwanis Club will only receive funds related to the art and <br />crafts portion of the event. He is working with North Coast Promotions and they will split funds <br />with them if any of their people are used. Mr. Kepperly said he would send out the acceptance <br />letters once the commission approves. <br />Mr. Kepperley moved, seconded by Mr. Yustick, to accept the three applications as <br />submitted which was approved 4-0. <br />Mr. Kepperley said he would be placing an ad in the High School Musical Program for the <br />Cultural Activities Commission. Commissioners donated funds in support of the ad. The high . <br />school drama club is performing Oklahoma on Apri129 and all commissioners are invited. <br />Cuvahoga Arts & Culture <br />Mr. Kepperley said it would be sometime in April for the commission to file tlie intent to apply <br />form. The form is on the Cuyahoga Arts & Culture website and a11501(c)(3) nonprofit <br />organizations can apply.
