A template will be created to <br />assist the commission with the current process and future efforts as well. A brief discussion <br />ensued pertaining to Mr. Schumann being contacted by a gentleman who made an offer on the <br />Biddulph home who wished to restore the home but the offer was turned down. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Lynn Wilson-Reiclale; 27645 Butternut itids!e Road, PP# 235-11-005 <br />A request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to change existing shingle color. <br />Mr. Schumann noted that Mr. and Mrs. Reichle were before the commission six months earlier <br />addressing windows and siding which has been completed and enhances the home's appearance. <br />Mr. Reichle provided a color rendering of the shingles they would like to use and noted the <br />existing shingles are a brownish red color. The existing shingles are over 30 years old and do <br />not worlc well with the new siding which is gray with a green tint. The shingles will be <br />dimensional shingles noted as moire black color. The basic style of shingle is the same as the <br />existing just the color is different. Mr. Dubowski said he viewed the home and thought the black <br />shingles would enhance the home's appearance. <br />Mr. l)ubowski moved, seconded by Mr. Richner, to grant a certificate of appropriateness <br />to Mr. and Mrs. Reichle of 27645 Butternut Ridge Road, to replace existing shingles with <br />Landmark & Landmark Plus Gallery three climensional 1Vloire Black color shingles which <br />was approved 5-0. <br />2011 Certified Local Government grant application <br />Ms. Wenger said she spoke with Steve McQuillin and Judy Krasniewski from the Ohio <br />Historical Society who is the CLG Manager. North Olmsted has 254 houses listed on the Ohio <br />Historic Inventory, out of which only about fifty are within the historical district. It would be <br />prohibitively expensive to update a11254 records. Discussion ensued regarding updating only <br />those homes within the historical district. The grant manager said the district update would be <br />acceptable for the grant as it has specific boundaries. The survey could be all those listed within <br />the district as well as those not listed but eligible. Whoever is hired must complete the online I- <br />forms. She will research the matter further but the filing deadline is fast approaching. Mr. <br />Schumann said the Cleveland Restoration Society may have names of individuals who do the <br />work. The homes to first be included in the list should be those which have reached the century <br />mark. Ms. Wenger said the office would work on trying to find the age of the homes within the <br />historical district. <br />COIVIMUNICATION <br />The Frostville marker was delivered since the last meeting and the Olmsted Historical Society <br />will have an event on May 1, 2011 inviting local dignitaries and commissioners to the unveiling. <br />2
