NEW BUSINESS:
1) Auto Body Services, Inc., 28415 Lorain Road
A proposal to construct a new (8100 square foot) block building.
Variances will be required. Referred by planning commission July 28, 1998.
Mr. Kavulchuk, representing, AutoBody Services introduced Architect, Mr. Mahler. Mr.
Mahler explained the aesthetic features and presented material samples including: Shingles
(Grey Frost XT 25); Door/Window Framing (Dark Donotie Finnish dark bronze #3000);
Vinyl Siding (odyssey Allside, platinum grey). He noted they may decide to go with more of a
three dimensional shingle. Pictures of the surrounding buildings were presented with the
elevations. In lieu of planning commissions comments concerning this project, a ballard style
lighting was chosen as the most suitable alternative as the lighting will accent the building and
will not adversely effect surrounding properties. Since there was not any pole lights
proposed, W. Yager questioned if the applicant felt the lighting tolerance was adequate from
a safety perspective. W. Kavulchuck responded the idea of the .pole lights was abandoned as
a result of comments from the planning commission and at the request of some abutting
property owners. He stated the proposed lighting was adequate for this type of a business as
there are only five employees and the shop would close at 6:00 P.M. Several different style
ballard lights were presented for review, and Mr. Yager identified his preference. W. Mahler
noted W. Yager was referring to the RD-8 ballard light. Mr. Yager was not as much
concerned about the style chosen, as long as it was consistent with the building. Assistant
