I
• i
MEMO
July 10, 1998
To: Ron Tallon, Chairman of Planning Commission
Subject: Wellington Place
We do not have detailed plans for the stormwater retention system at this time, however,
Jim Kral of Civil Tech, the owner's Engineer, has informed me that a 60% underground
and 40% pond is proposed.
From an engineering perspective I have no objection to the proposed ratio of underground
to aboveground storage. The concerns with aboveground storage in a wet pond are
adequate fencing for safety and an aeration system to prevent stagnant water.
For comparison, the Butternut Ridge Apartments at Great Northern and Butternut Ridge
Road have a 40% underground and 60% wet pond, but that is the primary landscape
feature of that development, visible to all passerby.
?
Paul W.
