. / A
(
accurate to the elevations. Mr. Nemecek apologized for not having revised elevations, but asked
that the board merely make a recommendation on the return. Mr. Zergott stated the developer
wanted to get everything clear prior to making a presentation before the board of zoning appeals.
Mr. Nemecek announced the intent of requesting this special meetang was to not further delay the
proposal. He was vvilling to satisfy the members ofthe board outside the public forum and
requested a recommendation. Mr. Yager reminded the developer the recommendation was
already made to extend the brick all tlie way up the arch ways, yet Mr. Nemecek is stating he does
not want to abide by this recommendation, but is willing to slap that amount of brick at another
location on the site. Mr. Yager stated since the developer wants to take a different path from
what has been recommended, he would like to see the compromise and a faxed piece of paper
does not do the job. He wondered where the brick would go on the gazebo and how it would
look as tlie gazebo is constructed of a wood material. Mr. Nemecek advised he would put the
brick on the pillars and other locations tlie board may recommend. 1Vlr. Yager questioned where
the brick would be seen from I-480. Mr. Nemecek noted every one of the stair wells would be
seen from tlie lughway. Mr. Yager noted that the stair area only goes up three stories. Mr.
Nemecek was willing to extend that to almost four stories. Mr. Yager stated all brick was
recommended, wluch the developer did not want to comply with, so he made some
recommendations for a compromise. He noted the developer did not want to agree with the
comprouuse but has not submitted any blue prints depicting the proposal. Mr. Yager further
advised there are plenty buildings in north olmsted that have brick all the way up the arch ways,
and he felt the restricted budget complaint was getting old. He stated the developer should either
accept tlie compromise or construct the builduig entirely in brick.
M. Yager moved to approve tlie design of the Candlewood Hotel with the following comments:
the brick shall extend all the way up the arch ways; have some corbelling and soldier course at all
the archways; that the stair towers be brick on all four floors and wrap around to the nearest
abutting edge; those plans be submitted for approval of the architectural review board for
independent review; and the signage will have to come back for full board review at a future date.
The motion was seconded by T. Liggett and una.nimously approved.
V. NEW BUSINESS:
VI. ADJOURNMENT: T'he meeting was adjourned at 9:15 A.M.

B. Zergott, ChairnLan
A. Cornish, Clerk of Commissions
