jk?
; CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED
"TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!"
MASTER PLAN
MINUTES - NOVEMBER 6, 1999
7:30 P.M. IN MAYORS CONFERENCE ROOM
1. ROLL CALL:
The meeting was called to order at 7:30pm.
PRESENT: T. Brennan, W. Spalding, P. Deichmann, D. Conway, and J. Dubelko.
II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINLJTES: The minutes of October 6th Master Plan meeting
were approved as written.
III. COMNIITTEE REPORTS:
Discussion was held regarding existing split-zoned parcels (mostly on Lorain Road). Mr.
Dubetko recommended that this problem be addressed on a case-by-case basis, which was agreed
upon.
Discussion was held regarding new development at the West End of the city due to impact of
North Ridgeville plans.
General discussion ensued regarding planning commission activities and it was recommended that
members be given a checklist of items to review for each new proposal. The checklist could be
generic in content so that no items to be considered by the Commission would be forgotten.
It was decided that all Zoning maps should be color-coded to ease identification for the
Engineering and Building Departments. Ideally, zone maps would be computer generated so that
they could be printed when needed.
The review of the existing Master Plan was begun by Chairman Brennan as follows:
Introduction: Discussion ensued regarding establishing more community recreational
facilities. Use of excess lot areas and possible storm water-retention areas for passive-type
recreation should be considered. Trying to obtain grants for recreational needs should be
considered.
Chapter 1: All goals should be retained.
Chapter 2: No changes necessary.
Chapter 3: This chapter should be revised as follows:
Update 1992 data to year 2000 standards
Identify the Government Overlay Zoning
Identify where Telecommunication installations are located
Modify page 53 to add "Hotel, Motel, or like uses to the land use table".
