that the applicant did not check with the buildin; department to get a permit before changing the <br />sign. Ms. Goebel indicated that she did not replace the sign, she only removed the Plexiglas. Mr. <br />Gomersall questioned if the applicant understood what was read at the beginning of the meeting <br />regarding pole signs. Ms. Goebel commented that she understood, but was not concerned as the <br />pole sign belonged to the owner and she was the renter. Mr. Gomersall indicated that the variance <br />was needed for the pole sign and if the City won the case the pole sign would have to be removed. <br />No further comments were made. <br />J. Maloney motioned to grant Backdrought of 24775 Lorain Road her request for variance <br />(1123.12), which consists of signage and that the following variances be granted: <br />1. A 21 square foot variance for a wall sign, (code permits 28.5sqft, applicant shows 49.5sqft), <br />section (1163.11 b). <br />2. A variance to reface an insert on a prohibited pole sign, (code requires sijn brought into <br />compliance, section (1163.19 a). <br />Which is in violation of Ord. 90-125 sections, (1163.11 A and B). <br />The motion was seconded by T. Koberna and Unanimously approved. Variance Granted. <br />7. The Reclinina Furniture Co.; 25151 Lorain Road: <br />Request for variance (1123.12). Proposal consists of a wall sign. <br />Tlie following variances are requested: <br />1) A 1 foot 3 inch height variance for a wall sign, (code pernuts 4ft, applicant shows Sft 3inch, <br />2) A 40.5 square foot variance for a wall sign, (code permits 75sqft, applicant shows 115.5sqft). <br />Which is in violation of Ord. 90-125 section, (1163.12 A). <br />Chairman Gomersall called all interested parties forward and reviewed the variances bein? <br />requested. Ms. Benjamin, with Global Graphics and NIr. Schultz, of Reclining Furniture, came <br />forward to review their request. Mr. Gomersall indicated that the Board Members reviewed the <br />site and it looks very nice. Ms. Benjamin indicated that the owners viewed different types of signs <br />and this was the best. Mr. Gomersall commented the site is attractive. W. Gomersall questioned <br />if there was any further comments or concerns to be addressed. No further comments were made. <br />J. Konold motioned to grant Reclining Furniture Co., of 25151 Lorain Road their request for <br />variance (1123.12). Which consists of a wall sign and that the following variances be granted: <br />l. A 1 foot 3 inch height variance for a wall sign, (code permits 4ft, applicant shows Sft 3inch). 2. <br />2. A 40.5 square foot variance for a wall sign, (code permits 75sqft, applicant shows 115.5sqft). <br />Which is in violation of Ord. 90-125 section, (1163.12 A). <br />The motion was seconded by J. Maloney and Unanimously approved. Variance Granted. Note: <br />In the framing of the motion Mr. Rymarczyk questioned if the applicants were aware that the <br />building still needed to go before Council. Mr. Schultz commented he understood. <br />8. Ten Minute Lube: 25715 Lorain Rd. <br />Request for variance (1123.12). Proposal consists of a pole sign. <br />The following variances are requested: <br />1) A variance to install a pole sign, (code prohibits pole signs), section (1163.12). <br />2) A variance far installing a sign within a triangle, (code states no sign shall be allowed within a triangle <br />formed between points on the front and side street right-of-way lines within 35 feet from their intersection), <br />section (1163.04). <br />Which is in violation of Ord. 90-125 sections, (1163,12) and (1163.04 H). <br />es <br />8
