CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />- BOARD OF BUII,DING CODE APPEALS <br />MINUTES - APRII,17, 1997 <br />1. ROLL CALL: <br />Acting Chairman Kazak called the meeting to order at 7:35 P.M. . <br />Present: J. Kazak, D. Spoerke, and W. Piar. <br />Absent: R. Burk and P. Engoglia. <br />Also Present: Building Commissioner. Conway and Assistant Clerk of Commissions Cornish. <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTIONS OF MINUTES: <br />D. Spoerke motioned to approve the minutes of March 27, 1997, seconded by W. Piar and unanimously <br />approved. <br />III. COMMUNICATIONS: <br />Mr. Kazak advised the board received a communication from Mr. Griesser regarding the Cinnamon <br />Woods addresses approved at the February meeting. He noted the communication was received on <br />April l, 1997 and Mr. Griesser was unhappy with the boards decision on this matter. The members <br />decided to bring up this issue at the next meeting. <br />Mr. Kazak explained a communication was received from City Engineer Deichmann dated Apri13, 1997 <br />in reference to the drainage on Porter Road. Mr. Kazak read this communication aloud as there were <br />several people interested in Mr. Deichmawi's response. <br />N. HEARINGS: <br />1) Timberview Homes, P.P. #235-12-61, vacant lot located between 5581 and 5609 South Porter Road. <br />Request permission to construct house on a 40 foot lot. Hearing required by Section 1305.05(b) to <br />ascertain that proposed construction does not affect drainage of surface water or waste into or over <br />adjoining property or into any public street. Please note: Engineering Department will review the site <br />plan for drainage. <br />Hearing by the board of zoning appeals will be required. <br />Mr. Kazak swore in the following people: Mr. l?unlap; Mr. -Costa; Councilman-Nashar; Mrs. Hamilton; <br />Mrs. Steiner; Mr. MacDonald; and Mr. & Mrs. Miller. Mr. Dunlap believed the purpose ofthis yneeting <br />is to determine ifthis lot is buildable. He noted the proposal was tabled at the last meeting because the <br />board requested information from the City Engineer. City Engineer Deichmann has responded to the <br />building board's request. Mr. Kazak read this correspondence aloud. Mr. Dunlap explained the intent <br />of his retention basin. Mr. Kazak stated this is a mini retention basin that will work somewhat. Mr. <br />Dunlap explained the proposed retention basin will contain the water, on his lot for a longer period of <br />time, and advised the larger flooding problem should be addressed by the city. Mr. Dunlap noted if all <br />the dra.inage was put in properly and the grade was even on.all properties there would not be a problem <br />Mr. Costa, a neighboring resident, advised several yeazs ago his entire front yard was dug up but the <br />drainage pipe was not found. Mr. Costa elaborated, after rectifying this problem the ditch started
