Lang motioned to approve Biszantz of 26561 Butternut Ridge Rd. the installation of <br />glacier white Sears D-4.5 center lock siding. The shake will be from the Miami Foundry <br />Cottage Collection shake, vinyl white. Install 3/4-inch insulation board under lap siding <br />only, window trim would be raised to be flush with installed siding and insulation. G. Corell <br />moved the motion and was seconded by C. Miller. Roll call on motion: C. Miller, L. <br />VanAuken, and K. O'Rourke "yes". G. Corell, P. Barker, B. Lord, and J. Lang "no". <br />Motion 1Disapproved. <br />3. Caster; 27501 Butternut Ridge Rd, <br />Proposal consists of vinyl siding and roofing. <br />Mr. Caster came forward to review the proposal. He commented that the present roofing is <br />black and he has chosen moray black for the new, shingle color. Mrs. Lord questioned how <br />old the roof on the home is. Mr. Caster answered it was put on in 1978. Mrs. O.'Rourke <br />questioned if he would have to "strip the old roof. Mr. Caster answered no. Mr. Lang <br />questioned the vinyl siding on the agenda. Mr. Caster explained he was just talking about the <br />roofing first. Mr. Caster explained what he is proposing. Remove ridge shingles complete <br />house. Install starter courses hit and ridge caps, fabricate and install new aluminum chimney <br />flashing; color to match. Fabricate and install new aluminum valley flashing; color to match. <br />Re-roof all shingle areas using Certaint^ndmark 25. Install drip edge metal on ease. Install <br />3 gravity vents. Certaint?5 year limited warranty. Soffits are in good shape. The trim <br />boards are bad in spots; they will be replaced in kind. With the intention of adding siding to <br />the house after the roof is done the underside where ever necessary will be fashioned to <br />conform to the addition of vinyl siding. Mrs. O'Rourke questioned if eventually the trim <br />boards will be covered with vinyl. Mr. Caster replied yes. Mrs. Lord inquired if currently <br />they would be replaced with a similar trim wood. Mr. Caster replied yes. P. Barker <br />questioned if he was going to do the garage roof also. Mr. Caster replied they garage is not <br />attached to the house and he will not be re-doing that. <br />J. Lang moved to approve Caster of 27501 Butternut Ridge Rd. the roofing installation of <br />Q?ertaintftndmark series in color of ?korayllack, trim boards to be replaced. P. Barker <br />moved the motion and was seconded by K. O'Rourke. Unanimously approved. <br />The second request of this proposal is the vinyl siding. Mr. Caster commented that there is <br />lap siding and drop siding. On the front porch there is drop siding and on the rear extension <br />of the house there is drop siding, while the siding to the east part of the house is lap siding. <br />The vinyl will only cover the white portions of the house and not the wood. 1VIr. Corell <br />questioned if there is a drip rail through there. Mr. Caster replied it is straight, lap siding. <br />Mr. Barker questioned if he would be putting on outside insulation. Mr. Caster replied yes. <br />Mr. Barker questioned what type of insulation. Mr. Caster replied that he was not sure. Mr. <br />Caster questioned what he needs to know if he has to come back and if he should bring the <br />contractor... Mr. Lang commented that everything they said to Mr. Biszantz would be <br />applicable to Mr. ,Cast'er seeing that they both want vinyl siding. Bring a sample of the siding <br />that will be installed and if there is going to be installation installed; make sure you have the <br />thickness and type of installation.
