CITY OF NOIZTH OLMSTED "TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE" SOARD OF BiTII.DING CODE APPEALS MINUTES NOVEMBER 20, 2001 AT 5:30 PM IN COUNCIL CHAlVIBERS ROLL CALL: Chairman, Puzzitiello called the meeting to order at.5:35 p.m. • PRESENT: Chairman, R. Puzzitiello, Board members; R. Klesta, M. Conway- and N. Althen. ALSO PRESENT: Asst. Law Director; James Dubelko, Building Inspectors; T. Rymarczyk and L. Cifranic; Asst. Clerk of Gommissions, S. Solomon. ABSENT: Baard member; P. Engolia. II. RJEVIEW AND CORRECTfON OF MINUTES: The minutes from November 5, 2001 have been submitted for review. M. Conway motioned to approve the Board of Building Code Appeals minutes dated November 5,. 2001 as written. The motion was seconded by R. Klesta and was unanimously approved: Approved. III. BLTILDING DEPARTMENT REQUESTS: Ms. Hanne Boger; Rasmussen Homes Proposal consists of a request to revoke contractors registration in the City of North Olmsted in accordance with section 1317.07. Chairman Puzzitiello called all interested parties forward to review the case. Ms. Boger came forward. Mr. Puzzitiello questioned if she was the contractor. Ms. Boger replied yes. Mr. Puzzitiello questioned if her company was licensed with the state or if she ha,d a state number. Ms. Boger replied no. Mr. Puzzitiello questioned how she took care of her taxes. Ms. Boger indicated that she thought he meant a contractor license. She is licensed with the State, but she doesn't have a contractors license with the State. She indicated that she had come here tonight to ask for a continuance. She received the notice the day prior to this meeting and she had no time to prepare. She is in no position to answer questions. She spoke with Tom Rymaxczyk and asked if she could have a continuance. He told her that she would have to come here tonight in person to ask for a continuance. She is totally not prepared to answer questions and didn't have time to confer with anyone about this. She just did no't want to not show up. Mr. Puzzitiello indicated that they would postpone it. ' 1V1r. Rymarczyk questioned if there was any way the board could. proceed with it, because there is an excavated area with a homeowner who is distressed. Mr. Puzzitiello questioned how they were going to protect that hole and if the weather gets bad, how are they going to protect the footers. Ms. Boger indicated that she would propose to have a completely different company take over the building. She is not trying to avoid action; she is just not prepared. Mr. Klesta questioned if this was just a big open hole in the ground right now. Mr. Puzzitiello indicated that the footers are in and the foundation is partly up
