Her recommendation to the Building Department would be do
not use this list.
C) Review of pictures sent to Hospitality Solutions for the new Bennigan's restaurant.
Chairman Lord questioned if any board members had any information regarding the pictures
that were shared with Bennigan's. At the last meeting the board had decided that if they
wanted pictures they could get in touch with Mrs. VanAuken and she would make the slides
available since the commission has no negatives. Mrs. VanAuken indicated that she was
never contacted. Mrs. Lord presumed that the pictures came from City Hall and the board
got a thank you letter for them. (Note: The commissions office was able to locate and send
many photos per e-mail to Hospitality Solutions. Service Department had them in the
computer.) Mrs. Lord questioned what Face Lift Sam was. Mr. Smeraldi indicated that it
was a letterbox. There was a microphone in it and when kids would come by and look in it,
someone from inside the store would talk through the microphone to the children. Mrs.
O'Rourke commented that they figured out it was in front of the strip mall from the picture.
Mrs. Lord suggested that it was the old Davis Bakery.
D) Chairman Lord indicated that the board has received many correspondences. From the
Cleveland Restoration Society of Preservation Resource Center of Northeastern Ohio will
be holding its 29"' annual membership meeting and reception on Thursday, July 26, 2001. It
would be nice if this board could get a representative to go. There is no charge because we
are members. It will be from 5:30 to 7:30pm. The seventh historic bridges conference is
September 19-22, 2001 at the Sheraton in Cleveland. This is a four day seminar on historic
bridges. The Ohio Historic Preservation awards for public education and awareness award.
If anyone wants to go to one of these things, let Mrs. Lord know and she would try to
arrange it.
E) Chairman Lord commented that at their last meeting they had talked about changing their
meeting time to 7:00pm. We just need to make a motion to do that.
M. Davis motioned to change the Landmarks Commission meeting time from 7:30pm to
7:00pm. The motion was seconded by P. Barker and was unanimously approved. Motion
Carried, new meeting time is 7:00pm.
F) Chairman Lord commented that there was discussion last month about taking the same
vacation month as Council, which is going to be August. Mr. Barker suggested that he
thinks the board should meet in August if there is an applicant, but if there are no applicants
then they take the month for vacation. Mrs. Lord questioned if the rest of the board was
O.K. with that. Nobody disagreed.
1. COMMUNICATIONS:
Mrs. Lord indicated that the board has had many discussions about whether or not the
Barton Rd, church was landmarked. She could remember it happening, but nobody can find
paperwork on it. Last week Donna Rote and Barb Seman did some digging and they did
3
