the additional parking spaces. Mrs. O'Rourke questioned if the new parking would be
located in the back of the building i.e. north side of the site. Mr. Kraal indicated that was
correct. Mrs. O'Rourke inquired as to how many parking spaces would be added. Mr. Kraal
commented that there would be 8 in the north west corner and 6 spaces on the north end of
the site. Mr. Kraal reviewed that the existing landscaping and mounds would remain the
same. Mrs. O'Rourke questioned the traffic sign in the north west corner of the building.
She believed it was redundant and would only confuse people. Mr. Martinez commented that
they would not put up the one way sign on the north west corner of the building, but would
like to leave the one way sign in the south west corner. Mr. Tallon questioned the total
number of parking spaces on site. Mr. Rymarczyk indicated that the applicant would have
more then what is required. They are required to have 107 and they will have about 112 or
113. Mrs. O'Rourke questioned if more mounds or lights would be added to the site. Mr.
Kraal indicated that there were two pole lights and a wall mount light at each exit, which will
remain the same. Mr. O'Rourke questioned if the mounds would block the lights from the
cars parking. Mr. Tallon commented that by the site plans the mounds are only 3 feet high.
He would like to se more evergreens added to the mounds to buffer the lights. Mr. Kraal
suggested that board on board fence as well as the mounds and evergreens should be enough
to block the lights. Mr. Tallon requested that the landscaping along the mounds be thicker to
buffer the lights. Mrs. O'Rourke commented that she was more concerned about water
retention. Mr. Fiamdon indicated that since Alexander's took over the building the sound
problem has abated, the cleanliness problem that used to exist no longer exist. He would like
to review the plans. He is concerned about the noise from the cars i.e. slamming doors,
screeching tires. Mr. Kraal indicated that he would review the plans with the neighbor and
commented that the rear of the building would be paved which would eliminate the cars
screeching. At this point additional residents came forward to review the plans. Mr. Hamdon
questioned the height of the street sign and suggested that it was too high. The pressure
washing that is taking place leaves debris on the pavement and he has had to sign up with a
exterminator as he is seeing rodents in his shed which he never has before. He suggested
that the smoke and smells that are coming up from the smokestacks should be looked at as
there are many fumes coming from them. He has to close up his home to keep the fumes out
of his house. The delivery trucks are not being shut off and the BFI trucks pick up the trash
too early in the morning for him. He believes that the height of the light poles is to high and
should be brought down. He lives behind the property and he believes that the parking is
enough. Mr. Hamdon believed that his legal notice should have included an agenda so that
he would have known were the case was on the docket. Mr. Tallon questioned what would
be kept in the outside storage area. Mr. Martinez indicated that the fenced area was needed
to store bread trays and milk crates so they are not just laying out. Mr. Tallon questioned if
the racks were dirty. Mr. Martinez indicated that bread is in plastic bags when it is delivered.
Mr. Kraal suggested that the existing lights were approved when the building was approved
and they are down lights. Mr. Talon questioned why more parking was required. Mr.
Martinez indicated that it was mainly for the weekends as people park a cross the street and
have to walk across Lorain Road. He is concerned for the safety of his patrons. Mr. Tallon is
concerned about moving the parking closer to the residents. He suggested raising the
mounds. Mr. Kraal voiced a concern about adding any further weight to the mounds as they
are over the retention system. Mr. Deichmann indicated that there could be a problem if a
substantial amount of dirt is added to the existing mounds. Mr. Tallon suggested adding more
