f
, • ?.
The same functions across the front of the building are all there, some are just located in a different
spot. Their landscape architect did not have time to revise the landscaping in the front to match
the entrance change, but it will be basically what they proposed here. If this all goes through they
will go to the State of Ohio and ask permission to plant some trees along their property, because it
is just grass currently. On the east end there will be fabricated painted steel fences that totally
enclose the dumpster unit. The gates are manufactured for dumpsters and this is what they have
been using all over Northeast Ohio. Mr. Vandegrift handed out pictures of the existing and
surrounding buildings. He commented that they are basically taking the building which still has the
characteristics of a gas station with it's exposed steel beams and closed structure and revising that
and changing it to have a metal roof and then they will have a E.F.I.S. system on the gables of the
building. The existing brick can be exactly inatched because the company still makes it, which is a
bell crest 170. On all of the buildings they've remodeled they changed the windows to an
aluminum which is a champagne color. Mr. Liggett questioned why the pyramid over the entrance
is so much thicker than the ones on the sides of the building. It looks a little clumsy that way. Mr.
Vandegrift indicated that Mr. Liggett had a good observation. They will look at decreasing the
thickness of the pyramid over the entrance. Mr. Yager indicated that putting the dumpster where
the cars qui up reminds him somewhat of a fast food place. He wondered why they wouldn't put it
somewhere else. Mr. Vandegrift indicated that the bank has two drive up vats that are busy only
from 9-4 so if they come early in the morning they have no problem getting to it. The other reason
is that if they put it anywhere else on this extremely small site, they either loose a parking space or
they have to take away from landscaping. Mr. Yager questioned how often the garbage men come
to empty the dumpster. Mr. Lance indicated that it happens on a weekly basis and you have to
realize it is not a lot of garbage like a fast food place. Mr. Yager commented that he was just
wonderir,g if it was small enough that since they have such a good relationships with nei?hbor
buildings, maybe you could just use their dumpster and remove the dumpster from your site all
together. Ms. Schulz questioned what the height of the area around the HVAC units as opposed
to the height of the area around the parapet wall. 1VIr. Vandegrift replied that it is all the same, plus
5 feet. Mr. Zergott questioned if there will there will be enough room for a truck to get there and
maneuver in. Mr. Vandegrift replied yes. The dumpster is on rollers and it is a front loader type.
Mr. Zergott questioned if they had to roll the container to get it into position for the taking. Mr.
Vandegrift replied no, they could come around, back up and pull in. Mr. Yager indicated that they
have all these anangements with other properties and wondered if the City had copies of those
docuinents. Mr. Conway indicated that they had what they needed. W. Yager questioned if there
was a drive up ATM machine. N1r. Vandegrift indicated no, they would have liked to do that but
this property is too small. 1VIr. Zergott indicated that the landscaping had some problems. He
indicated they used ilex green luster on the south side of the building which means it will be out in
the heat all day, and it doesn't hold up very well. Mr. Vandegrift questioned even with a sprinkler
system. W. Zergott replied right, with heat and winter-burn it will die out. It is on either side of
the old entry, there where six of them and then there were four placed somewhere else. On the left
side of the building it is about 99% deciduous which means for six months of the year all you're
going to have is sticks over there. The landscaping is very informal and he would look at more
evergreen and probably use taxisibian, ilex glabra, or ink berry holly which is a lot heartier than ilex
green luster. He recommended tearing the old stuff out and starting new. More formal
landscaping would fit a bank better. The plants by the road almost always die from salt burn, so
make the landscaping bana at the building itself. Mr. Zergott indicated that if they could send that
to their landscaping architect and then re-submit one and in order to not hold the proposal up any
longer it doesn't have to happen at a meeting like this again. He will just come in and sign off on it .
if they can get it to the Clerk of Commissions. Mr. Zergott questioned if they had any new
lighting. Mr. Vandegrift indicated that they would be replacing the wall pack lights on the building
2
