CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />"TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE" <br />ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW BOARD <br />MINUTES- FEBRUARY 20, 2002 <br />CONFERENCE ROOM <br />5:30 P.M. <br />1. ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman, Zergott called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Chairman, B. Zergott, Board members, M. Yager, T. Liggett, J. Nader and K. <br />Schulz. <br />ALSO PRESENT: Assistant Law Director, B. O'Malley, Assistant Building Commissioner T. <br />Rymarczyk, Clerk of Commissions, D. Rote and Assistant Clerk of Commissions, A. Kilbane. <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF NIINiJTES: <br />The Architectural Review Board minutes for September 19, 2001 have been submitted for <br />approval. - ? <br />M. Yager motioned to approve the September 19, 2001 Architectural Review Board minutes as <br />written. The motion was seconded by T. Liggett and Unanimously approved. <br />III. SIGNS: <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS: <br />V. NEW BUSINESS: <br />Halleen KIA, parcels #232-10-025 232-10-024 and 232-10-023. <br />Proposal consists of renovation of the existing three-(3) buildings and automobile storage. <br />Note: Board of Zoning Appeals granted a Use Variance 10/4/01 as well as 7 additional <br />variances on 12/6/0 1. This proposal was tabled at the 11/13/01, 12/11/01 & 1/8/02 Planning <br />Commission meetings. Planning Commission referred this proposal to the Architectural <br />Review Board at their 1/22/02 meeting. <br />Chairman Zergott called all interested parties forward to review the proposal. Mr. Suhayda the <br />Architect, Mr. Farrell, the Attorney and Mr. Kula, KIA's General Manager each came forward to <br />review the proposal. Mr. Suhayda suggested that the Architectural Review Board reviewed the <br />same project a year ago. The only change is that the proposed building in the southwest corner <br />will not be constructed. The existing Showroom/Domino Pizza building will be the showroom <br />and renovated. The lighting, landscaping and fencing will be the same as what was reviewed last <br />year. Mr. Farrell indicated that the mound along the southwest corner was extended an additional <br />20 feet and the curb cut was eliminated. Mr. Suhayda reviewed that the Board of Zoning <br />Appeals granted KIA the 7 variances required under the condition that the mound be extended <br />and the Dewey Road curb cut be eliminated which has been done. He believes that Planning <br />Commission has given them about 50 different recommendations. However, they are not sure <br />which recommendations they will follow and would like direction from the Architectural Review <br />Board. Mr. Yager requested the applicant review some of Planning Commission <br />recommendations. Mr. Farrell reviewed that Planning Commission recommended 1(a) light <br />pole be removed from the east side of the Lorain Road entrance, then reposition the remaining 4 <br />(a) light poles. Remove 2(b) light poles on the southwest corner to eliminate light spillage on
