Mr. Maloney confirmed they intend to use the <br />base that is already there. <br />J. Konold motioned to grant to North Olmsted Collision Center, of 28415 Lorain Rd., the request for <br />variance (1123.12) which consists of a ground sign and that the following variance be granted; 1). A 1 foot <br />5 inch var.iance for a ground sign closer to the right of way than permitted (code requires 5 feet, applicant <br />shows 3 fE;et 7 inches), section (1163.26 (b)). Which is in violation of Ord. 90-125 section (1163.26 (b)). <br />The motion was seconded by N. Sergi and unanimously approved. Variance Granted. <br />13. Giant: Eagle23100 Lorain Rd.; <br />Request for variance (1123.12). The proposal consists of a sign. <br />The fz)llowing variance is requested: <br />1. A 47.7 square foot variance for a wall sign larger than permitted (code permits 100 square feet, <br />applicant shows 147.7 square feet), section (1163.27 (c)). <br />Note: Proposed Giant Eagle sign (147.7 square feet) to replace existing (Rini Rego Sparkle) sign <br />(136.4 square feet). <br />Whicll is in violation of Ord. 90-125 section (1163.27 (c)). <br />Chairman Maloney called all interested parties forward to review the request. Mr. Mike Bizjak, of Brilliant <br />Signs, came forward to be sworn in. He explained that the Sparkle store is going back to being a Giant <br />Eagle store. Mr. Kremzar said there are two temporary signs at the site now. Mr. Bizjak indicated the <br />Sparkle sign was gone as of April ls`. The height of the letters is coming down from 6' Sparkle letters to 3' <br />6" Giant Eagle letters. He said the pole sign will be refaced and there will be an improvement with the <br />white background being removed. They are going with a red background with white letters. <br />J. The proposal consists of time extension. <br />The fiollowing variances are requested: <br />1. A variance for 12 to 18 month extension of time (code permits 12 months, applicant shows 24 to 30 <br />manths), section (1123.15). <br />2. A variance for 12 to 18 months extension of time to obtain building pernvt, section (1126.07). <br />Whicll is in violation of Ord. 90-125 section (1123.15), and (1126.07). <br />Chairman Maloney called all interested parties forward to review the request. Mr. Matt Coughlin, of <br />Litehouse Pools, came forward to be sworn in. He explained that the building next door was torn down. <br />They used to have a tenant in the existing Litehouse building but that tenant moved down the street. They <br />let the ten,ant out of its lease. They would like to put their plans on hold for 12-18 months so they can find <br />another tenant before adding on to the space. Mr. Coughlin indicated they need to do something for land <br />erosion. Mr. Rymarczyk said the Engineering Department is involved in erosion control where they <br />demolished the building next door. Mr. Maloney asked if they would be putting on a layer of black top for <br />drainage or be doing some landscaping. He said it would be good if they put in some landscaping to dress it <br />up and protect the drainage. He asked if they could get by with 12 months. Mr. Coughlin said he 'is <br />11
