<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />"TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE" <br />BOARD OF BUILDING CODE APPEALS <br />MINUTES - OCTOBER 17, 2002 <br />IN COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />5:30 P.M. <br />ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman R. Puzzitiello called the meeting to order at 5:40 p.m. <br />PRESENT: chairman R. Puzzitiello, Board Members; R. Klesta, M. Conway, P. Engoglia and <br />N. Althen. <br />ALSO PRESENT: Assistant Law Director B. O'Malley, Assistant Building Commissioner T. <br />Rymarczyk and Clerk of Commissions D. Rote. <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />The minutes of the September 19, 2002 Board of Buildircg Code Appeals meetings have been <br />submitted for approval. <br />P. Engoglia motioned to approve the September 19, 2002 Baard of Building Code of Appeals <br />minutes as written. R. Klesta seconded the motion, which was unanimously approved. <br />III. BUII.,DING DEPARTMENT REQUE5TS: <br />Wal-Mart(Sherman 5imms) 24801 Brookpark Road: <br />Proposal consists of Storage Trailers. <br />Applicant requests a permit for nine (9) trailers to be placed in an area, which is visible from <br />Country Club Blvd. right-of-way throughout the 2002 Christmas season. This is in violation <br />of (section 1363.07 (b-5)). Note: The Board of Building Code of Appeals tabled this proposal <br />at its September 19, 2002 meeting. <br />Mr. Puzzitiello called all interested parties forward to review the request. Mr. Simms reviewed <br />that since the last meeting he had been working on finding a warehouse to store all the items in the <br />trailers. Just a week ago the signed a lease on the DIY warehouse in Berea. Yesterday the <br />security system was activated and they have started moving all the trailers. All the trailers will be <br />off the site by the end of the day Friday, October 18, 2002. Mr. Simms thanked the board for <br />working with him and giving him time to address the issue. He again assured the board members <br />that he wanted to be a good neighbor and they are still working on trying to get the 7-year-old Wal <br />Mart enlarged to accommodate the volume of sales from this store. They are still working on <br />moving the vending machines inside. Mr. Engoglia reviewed what Mr. Simms stated, the}• would <br />have all trailers gone by October 18, 2002, and will not return. Mr. Simms indicated that the only <br />time trailers will be on the site is when they are delivering things to the store or removing items to <br />go to the warehouse. Mr. Rymarczyk questioned if the 4-layaway trailers would be removed as <br />well. He indicated that there were 7-trailers and the 4-layaway trailers on the site today and <br />questioned if they would be gone tomorrow. Mr. Simms assured everyone that all trailers would <br />be gone by the end of the day October 18, 2002. Mr. Rymarczyk indicated that the Fire <br />department would be out to make sure the 4-layaway trailers are gone. They have the right to shut <br />you down instantly if they are not removed.
