<br />` <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />'- "TOGETHEIt WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!" <br />LANDMARKS COMNiISSION <br />MINUTES - JANUA.RY 13, 2003 <br />IN OLD TOWN HALL <br />- 7:00 P.M. <br />1. ROLL CALL: Chairman Lord called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />PRESENT: B. Lord, K. O'Rourke, T. Dubowski, P. Barker, J. Lang, M. Davis, and G. Corell <br />ABSENT: L. VanAuken, and J. Dailey <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF NIlNUTES: The Landmarks Commission minutes from the <br />December 9, 2002 meeting have been submitted for approval. <br />Mr. Lang mentioned there should be a correction on page one, the fifth line from the bottom. The <br />word transient should be transom. <br />J. Lang made a motion to accept the minutes of December 9, 2002 as amended. The motion was <br />seconded by P. Barker and unanimously approved. <br />K. O'Rourke made a motion to ainend the agenda in order to accommodate the representative for the <br />Beckrest's. He is in attendance to present changes to the proposal. The motion was seconded by G. <br />Corell and unanimously approved. See OLD BUSINESS. <br />III. NEW BUSINESS: <br />• • Commission needs to elect a Chairman and Vice Chairman for 2003 <br />G. Corell made a motion to elect Mr. Lang as Chairman. The motion was seconded by M. Davis and <br />unanimously approved. <br />Mr. Barker nominated Mr. Corell for Vice Chairman. Mr. Corell declined to accept because of his <br />schedule. Mr. Corell then nominated Mr. Barker for Vice Chairman. Mr. Barker had to decline. Mrs. <br />Davis nominated Mrs. Lord for Vice Chairman. Mrs. Lord accepted the nomination. <br />G. Corell made a motion elect Mrs. Lord as the Vice Chairman. The motion was seconded by J. Lang <br />and unanimously approved. <br />Mr. Barker excused himself from the meeting in order to attend a meeting at City Hall. <br />IV. COMMUNICATIONS: <br />• Letter from Ohio Historical Society requesting renewal in OAHSM <br />Mrs. Lord pointed out the request is actually asking for additional funds, a financial gift to the <br />organization. It is not the renewal notice. <br />• Discuss boundaries of historic district in response to e-mail request to Office of Commissions, and <br />locate map if available <br />Mrs. Lord pointed out the request for a map originated from Mr. Halleen. She said he wants a copy of <br />the maps he was given at the time he had a conversation about the property on the corner of Lorain <br />and Porter. She said they went back to when the district was created in 1986 and Mr. Lang has agreed <br />40 to report what he found in all of the records. Mr. Lang said there are some maps that are included in <br />the files that identify the general location of the Butternut Ridge Historic District in North Olmsted.
