ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman R. Garlaiid called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Chairman R. Garland, Board members B. Martindale, D. Frazier and C. Birney. <br />ALSO PRESENT: Clerk of Commissions D. Rote <br />ABSENT: Board member G. Thompson. <br />IT. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF M[NUTES: <br />The minutes from the Cultural Activities meeting held June 2, 2004, have been submitted for <br />approval. <br />B. Martindale moved to approve the Cultural Activities June 2, 2004 minutes as written. C. <br />Birney secorided the motion which was unanimously approved. <br />III. NEW BUSINESS: <br />Mrs. Martindale to discuss next play to be conducted as well as dates and times <br />Mrs. Martindale indicated that the first play raised $1,122.52 and went very well, in fact patrons <br />asked for the play to be extended. They will be performing a new play starting the weekend <br />before Halloween and two weeks in November. The play will be preformed in old town hall and <br />is a witch trial. She indicated that the last mystery dinner raised 2,000.00 and she will have <br />another mystery dinner for the new play. All but five actors in the last play were residents of <br />North Olmsted. Mrs. Martindale indicated that she would need help with Costumes and <br />advertising. Postabe for flyers will be the largest expense the mailing will be sent out first week <br />of October. <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS: <br />Mr. Garland indicated that there is an art festival in Olmsted F'alls taking place the weekend of <br />September 11`h and 12`h. Mrs. Birney announced that there is a new Cleveland orchestra player <br />and they will be holding three concerts this season. She indicated that she would have dates for <br />concerts at next meeting. Mrs. Martindale suggested the commission hold a musical at old town <br />hall in December between Christmas and New Years Eve. <br />V. COMMUNICATIONS: <br />Mr. Frazier questioned if there were any objections to him inviting Superintendent Dr. Kurt <br />Stanic to a meeting to get a feel for what is needed by the different cultural groups. <br />Commissioners voiced that they would welcome Dr. Stanic to any of their meetings. <br />VI..
