CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />"TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!" <br />I,ANDMARKS COMIVIISSION <br />MARCH 8, 2004 <br />MINUTES <br />1. ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman Lang called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Chairman J. Lang, Board members; P. Barker, B. Lord, M. Davis and R Koeth. <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mayor Musial, Assistant Law Director B. O'Malley, and new member P. <br />Schumann, <br />ABSENT: Boardmember, G. Nashar <br />U. REVILEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />The minutes of the February 9, 2004 Landmarks Commission meeting have been submitted for <br />approval. <br />B. Lord moved to approve the Landmark minutes dated February 9, 2004 as written. P. <br />Barker seconded the motion, which was unanimously approved. <br />III. RECEPTION OF VISITORS: <br />Mayor Musial performed the swearing in ceremony of new Landmark member P. Schumann. <br />Board members welcomed Mr. Schumann to the Commission. <br />Mr. Lang welcomed Mr: Donald Rerko and Mr. Thomas Schock and reviewed that they would <br />go before the Inner Governmental Relations Committee of Council the following night for their <br />interviews. They should be sworn in at the next meeting. <br />Mr. Lang introduced Ms. Lori Kubiak, with the Olmsted Historical Society and indicated that he <br />invited her to the meeting so the commission could start a dialog regarding the Church at Barton <br />Road. <br />IV. NEW BUSINESS: <br />Mr. Lang reviewed that he would like the commission to motion a renewal of inembership for <br />the following organizations: 1). Cleveland Restoration Society $75.00. 2). The Ohio Association <br />of Historical Association and Museums $30.00. 3). The National Alliance of Preservation <br />Commissions $75.00. 4). The National Trust Forum $115.00. Mr. Barker reviewed the 2004 <br />budget total that approved for Landmark Commission but was not sure o£ the exact breakdowns. <br />He does not believe any funds were provided for conferences. Mr. Schumann indicated that he <br />would be interested in attending any conferences available for his professional interests and <br />would not expect to be refunded the costs if that would help the commission. <br />B. Lord motion to approve the expenditure of funds for the above membership renewals <br />for 2004. P. Barker seconded the motion, which was unanimously approved. <br />Mr. Barker reviewed that there were a couple of errors regarding the terms of appointments and <br />thanked Mr. O'Malley for having the Law Director address issue of appointments.
