In consideration of the above N.O.H.S.B. is asking to waive their <br />maintenance fee charges. Mr. Dolansky stated that this is the first time in many years that we <br />have had this type of support to help the City improve facilities and create a better playing <br />environment for everybody and he would like to see this long term commitment to the community <br />supported. Mrs. Hayes made a motion to waive the North Olmsted Hot Stove Baseball’s <br />maintenance fees for a period of three years commencing this year. The motion was seconded by <br />Mrs. Janet Saringer and approved unanimously. <br /> <br />North Olmsted Hot Stove is have an Opening Day Ceremony on May 17, 1997. There will be a <br />parade at North Olmsted Park and other festivities will take place. <br /> <br />Mrs. Saringer stated there is a joint Finance and Recreation Committee meeting on Monday, April <br />21, 1997 to discuss legislation in regards to AT&T and Clague Park. She stated she would like <br />the Commissioner to attend the meeting. Mrs. Kasler stated there is a proposal from AT&T for <br />the City to consider and it is still on the negotiating table. AT&T is offering some money up front <br />and a rental fee for a piece of property at Clague Park where they would be putting a monopole. <br />The companies are licensed and federally mandated to service a certain area. This is the first <br />company that has approached the City. The City is doing some research and has not made any <br />decisions thus far. <br /> <br />Mrs. Hayes stated that there is a library issue on the ballot May 6, 1997. The library will be <br />located adjacent to the Recreation Complex. It will be behind the Olive Garden and Denny’s, and <br />there will be parking spaces for 100 cars. The informational brochures on the issue have been out <br />in the mail and numerous presentations have been made on the topic. She encouraged everyone <br />to vote on election day. <br /> <br />Mr. Dolansky stated that he had recently walked the old City dump site located at the end of Root <br />Road and he was excited that the site offered some great potential for future park development. <br />he noted that he would set up a date to walk the site in the near future with those interested or <br />possibly review the site map at the next meeting. He noted that the site contained over 30 acres <br />and would certainly be large enough to accommodate a number of active and passive recreational <br />opportunities for the benefit of the community. <br /> <br />Mr. Gardner stated he has a letter from George Verlich of the North Olmsted Softball <br />Association. N.O.S.A. provides a service organizing softball games for adult programs in the City <br />of North Olmsted and therefore they are requesting to waive the field permit fee for this year. <br />Mr. Dolansky stated that the revenue derived from this assessment is minimal usually not totaling <br />more then $1,500 per year and the N.O.S.A. has always cooperated on a yearly basis to help <br />maintain the City facilities by paying for electrical repairs, field dirt, and chain link fence repairs. <br /> <br />
