Page Four
Revised June 27, 2000

The Mayor again stressed green space for our children and grandchildren to enjoy, and will
propose the City authorize $50-$100,000 be spent for an outside consultant to prepare a
total recreational package. A copy of Mayor Musial’s notes on the Farver property is
attached as Exhibit B.

Mrs. Hayes then encouraged the visitors to contact their councilmen and express their
th
opinions and objections and to attend the Council meeting on June 20.

This ended the visitors’ address, and there was a brief adjournment and study of the
engineering plat maps in the various areas of the City showing available properties for
purchase.

When the Commission reconvened, two of the members left for other business, and there
was no quorum to continue with the meeting. There was a very brief discussion of the
th
recent resignation on June 15 of Ginna Crea and of the search for her replacement as
Rink Supervisor, to commence imminently. Doug Nist started to work at the Recreation
Center as the Aquatics Supervisor on June 19, 2000. Jackie Ryan began as a Program
st
Supervisor on June 1. After five interviews, Jason Frolo is starting in July as a Recreation
Supervisor. The Recreation Center will also be interviewing for a part-time office assistant
in the near future.

Claire Hayes stated there was a caucus among the members supporting the position of
green space for the proposed property purchase, but that the Commission must tour the
properties before endorsing its position.

There being no further business, a motion was made, seconded and passed unanimously
to adjourn the meeting at 9:00 p.m.

________________________ _________________________
Claire Hayes, Chairman Judith Ptacek, Secretary
