Mr. Morgan stated that it can be hooked <br />up to a VCR or computer, used with PowerPoint, or to make a video on it. It could be taken to <br />the schools for program marketing and to be used for Movies in the Park <br />Miscellaneous Capital: <br />*Storage shed can be erected in-house $7000 for outdoor equipment, cost includes materials and <br />garage door installed by Action Door <br />*Doors to cable – 3 – one off rink, one off concession storage area, one in back of concession for <br />access to office or fitness center $15,000 (noted that Larsen is to present cost to establish fitness <br />center in either front office or cable space) <br />*CDBG (Community Development Block Grant) matching funds $30,000 to install handicap <br />accessibility (this is a 50/50 shared cost project) <br />*Road sign $58,000 Mr. Morgan stated that the road sign is being looked at for insurance <br />coverage (casualty & loss) due to the recent wind storm which blew out the sign. <br />Park Supplies: <br />*Safety zones for playground $7000 (Mr. Stein would also like to consider plastic caps for <br />treated lumber due to the recent concerns with treated lumber. No cost on this yet.) <br />*Backstop repairs $11,000 - $5000 for Diamond #1 replacement, $6000 for general repairs to <br />diamonds throughout the city for safety reasons <br />Special Services: <br />*Recreational Community Needs Survey $15,000 Mr. Morgan stated that this is to determine <br />what the community wants to see in a rec center. Will target 500 families via phone. Mr. Miller <br />suggested we look at old survey done by the community a few years ago. Mr. Limpert stated he <br />feels the survey is not a wise decision at this time with greater needs to be addressed that this <br />money can be put towards. Mr. Gardner and Ms. Hayes expressed their agreement. It was <br />agreed by all that this idea should be placed on hold. <br /> <br />Mr. Jenkins called for any questions. Mr. Miller inquired about the open land space at Springvale, <br />whether it is available for ball diamond or soccer field. Mr. Jenkins stated the concern of the <br />proximity to golfers teeing off and the liability of possible injuries. Mr. Miller proposed the <br />possibility of a gazebo or picnic shelter to rent out in the space. Mr. Jenkins stated that currently <br />there are no plans for this open land at Springvale. <br /> <br />This concludes Mr. Morgan’s report. <br /> <br />REPORT BY MR.
