Minutes of a Meeting of
The North Olmsted Parks and Recreation Commission
November 5, 2007

Mr. Garrity said that the Lake Erie Monsters will skate at the North Olmsted Rec on November 28,
2007. They will be on the ice from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m., and we will ask the kids to come on the ice with
them from 6:45 to 7:45. It’s free. Autographs will be signed; and the players are cool to the kids
because there are younger players. Next Wednesday night there will be a skate-a-thon, where the kids
are all asked to bring a non-perishable product for the North Olmsted Cupboard to help them during
the Holiday Season. The maintenance crew will get them up to the Cupboard. Mr. Garrity then
th
confirmed the November 28 date for the Commission members, the ice rental being confirmed
through Jenny Couts.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF OCTOBER 1, 2007

Mr. Lasko asked the Commission members if they had any changes or corrections to the Minutes as
submitted for October 1, 2007. There being none, Mr. Lasko moved to accept the Minutes from the
Meeting of the Parks and Recreation Commission for October 1, 2007; seconded by Mr. Barker. Mr.
Lasko asked if there was any further comment or discussion; there being none, all in favor signified
with an aye, and the Motion passed unanimously.

SUB COMMITTEE REPORTS

None

REPORT OF THE RECREATION COMMISSIONER

Financial Review

October 2007 Month-to-Date Department Revenue

This is a breakdown with all the departments and where there revenues are generated, from daily
admissions to passes to rentals to their programs. This is the Rec’s high time right now – October,
November and December.

Recreation Programs Income Statement Comparison

This is the interesting comparison between 2006 and 2007. One thing Mr. DiSalvo was particularly
interested in was that it has been a very slow year for individual and team sports. It’s starting to pick
up in September and October. This year we had a meeting for the winter basketball league. It’s
double what it was last year. The income will not show on the October report; it will show on the
November report, but the Commissioner thought Chris (Wetmore) is doing a good job getting closer
to his goal. Gymnastics and Pool are both doing very well. Rink is going to be behind all year.
We’ve been slow on Friday Nite Skates, averaging about 100-120, but that should increase with the
close of Football Season. Mr. DiSalvo said that the Friday Nite Skates have been a very good
revenue generator over the years easily since he has been here, if not over the last ten or fifteen years.
Page 2
