Minutes of a Meeting of
The North Olmsted Parks and Recreation Commission
April 4, 2005

This concluded the Report of the Safety Director.

OLD BUSINESS

Internet Usage

Mr. Miller brought up the subject of Internet usage within the Rec Center – for the parents
waiting for their children while they use the facility. If it would be too troublesome to get a
metered-operating box, perhaps a wireless program could be used. This could be a free service to
the residents. Mr. DiSalvo asked who would be contacted for this project. Mr. Miller said to
contact the City’s own data processing department.

Sub Committee

Mr. Kelley said that he would still like to keep the Sub Committee together when the facts and
figures come in, leaving it open. Mr. Lasko recommended that the Sub Committee meet again at
6:00 p.m. before the next Commission meeting on May 2, 2005, so noted by the Sub Committee
members.

NEW BUSINESS

2005 Cleveland Edges Accomplishments

Ms. Drenski passed around the 2005 Cleveland Edges Accomplishments, copy attached. After
review among the members, it was noted that the teams all did a great job. Mr. Garrity said that
they have gone national and they may have a chance to go to international competition. One of
the teams is comprised of young members; they have a good chance of staying together for a time.
Mr. Miller asked what percentage of the players are North Olmsted residents. Ms. Drenski said
she would determine that information and let Mr. Miller know. Mr. Garrity said that the Hockey
Club runs about 30 percent North Olmsted residents. The North Olmsted name is on their jerseys
or jackets and promotes the City.

Mr. Jesse asked if there had been any press on the Cleveland Edges. Ms. Drenski said she did not
think so; Mr. DiSalvo said it could be placed in the West Life.
Page 9
