Minutes of a Meeting of the
North Olmsted Parks and Recreation Commission
November 6, 2006
Page Eleven

Expenses

Mr. DiSalvo said that the Recreation Department is right on target for the year; nothing major has
happened so far.

Vandalism Report

The Commissioner reported that last week and a half ago at North Olmsted Park three bushes were
torn out on the east side of the basketball court and replanted. Also, someone was joyriding on
Diamond #3.

Presentation for CDBG

Mr. Barker said that regarding the presentation for CDBG, as far as maintenance of the restrooms,
hopefully the people will use it and be careful. He hoped for observation of the facilities at all times as
regards cameras on the outside of the buildings. Also, our crews should check the Parks more often.
Mr. Kelley said he was surprised that they were not going to do anything with the existing bathroom,
but he did not want to say anything while they were here. Mr. DiSalvo said that the rest of the Park is
falling under the Rec Master Plan. There is some crossover. This CDBG grant is mainly for those
restrooms and the two to five year old play areas; everything else will fall under Rec Capital in the
Master Plan.

REPORT OF THE COMMUNITY LIFE SERVICES DIRECTOR

Facility Cleaning Services RFP

Mr. Dailey said that, so far, there have been five responses for the janitorial services contract for the
Rec Center. That opening will be this coming Saturday, November 11, 2006 at 11:30. There
probably will be a recommendation to the Board of Control within two weeks from then. Six were
handed out and five responded. Ms. Meredith asked if the City goes to the locations for observation.
Mr. Dailey said that the City calls the contractors. The new contract will go into effect January 1,
2007. Mr. DiSalvo said that the last time there was a bidding process, only one company bid on it and
responded was Jani-King.

OLD BUSINESS

None
Page 11
