Minutes of a Meeting of the
North Olmsted Parks and Recreation Commission
November 6, 2006
Page Nine

placed? Mr. Meyer said that is what is called misleading the public. It shows a combination of
something that’s not. There’s no bench. That was Ms. Adams’ question – no wheelchair could go up
there if the bench was there.

All of the features that are on the platforms for the City are ADA accessible so that the children can
pull up and use the steering wheel or race game or whatever panel activity there is. Ms. Adams said
she was assuming that the ticket counter was low enough. Mr. Meyer said there are reach
requirements for ADA, so that when the child is in the chair, he is able to reach twelve inches off the
platform height up to forty inches, which is probably not this age group. Everything is geared to meet
the standards for reaching.

Mr. Kelley asked if there were any other questions.

Ms. Wenger said that, if there were no other questions, she would like the Commission to pass a
recommendation for approval. Mr. Kelley asked if Ms. Wenger was saying she would like this to go
to Council. Ms. Wenger said it will be, but that Council would like to have it with the Parks and
Recreation Commission’s approval.

Mr. Kelley asked for a recommendation. Mr. Lasko moved to approve there be a recommendation of
the North Olmsted Parks and Recreation Commission to approve the Plans as submitted this evening
in relation to the ADA Compliant Restrooms as well as the renovations of the Two to Five Year Old
Playground per the designs for each endeavor. Mr. Kelley seconded the Motion. There were no
questions. Upon roll call of the North Olmsted Parks and Recreation Commission, the Motion to
approve the Plans as submitted this evening in relation to the ADA Compliant Restrooms as well as
the renovations of the Two to Five Year Old Playground per the designs for each endeavor passed
unanimously.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Minutes of October 2006

Upon Motion made by Mr. Baxter, seconded by Ms. Jones, the Minutes of October 2006 were
approved unanimously.

SUB COMMITTEE REPORTS

None
Page 9
