MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE
NORTH OLMSTED PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION
November 5, 2007

Meeting called to order: 7:00 p.m.

In Attendance: John J. Lasko, Jr., Chairperson
Ted DiSalvo, Commissioner
Paul Barker, Councilman
Norm Baxter, Member
Terry Groden, Member

Visitors: Jennifer Rudolph
Ed Garrity, NOHC

Mr. DiSalvo began by saying that there were not too many items on the Agenda, and that he must
leave the meeting no later than 7:45 p.m. to pick up his daughter at PSR because of a carpooling
situation.

Mr. Lasko then opened the meeting and roll call was taken.

Everyone then stood and recited the Pledge of Allegiance.

First Order of Business

Mr. Lasko confirmed for the record the birth of a baby girl to Betsy and David Drenski which took
place on October 18, 2007, and noted the health and welfare of mother and daughter.

Also, on behalf of the Commission, Mr. Lasko extended condolences to Mr. Scarl and his family,
especially to his wife, upon the death of her father.

VISITORS’ OPPORTUNITY TO ADDRESS COMMISSION

Ms. Jennifer Rudolph, 3329 Walter Road, and Ed Garrity, 4620 Porter Road, as President of the
North Olmsted Hockey Club, came to listen to and observe the Rec Commission meeting as it
progressed. Ms. Rudolph had a question: she understood that there has been a vacancy on the
Commission for a while and wanted to know the time frame for getting that filled. Mr. Lasko replied
that that was going to be one of his questions for Mr. Dailey had he been here this evening. Perhaps
Ted (DiSalvo) has more information on the status of that appointment. Ms. Rudolph asked if it was a
Mayoral appointment; Mr. Lasko said that he believes that is correct but, again, he has no information
about it. The Commission is coming up on the end of this year, and in January there will be an
organizational meeting, so perhaps there might be an appointment between now and then. Your
question is timely; Mr. Lasko was going to raise the same question of Mr. Dailey had he been here.
The Commission is waiting to see. Ms. Rudolph thanked Mr. Lasko for the information. Mr. Barker
said he has no knowledge as well, but perhaps in December there will be more information.
