Recreation Commission Meeting
May 5, 2003

Tennis Courts

The tennis courts will be available on a first come, first served basis, aside from any events the
school might have there. This was noted for Mr. Gareau as a followup to a Recreation
Committee Meeting question. Ms. Powell commented that this has been the procedure in the
past.

Registration

Registration went very smoothly. The registration numbers were not as high as last year during
the registration time from 9:00 to 12:00 this past week. Programming and income lines at the
booth are up to par. Nevertheless, this procedure is for the protection of the residents.

This concluded the report of the Recreation Commissioner.

REPORT BY SAFETY DIRECTOR

Security Plan Checklist

Mr. Jesse began his report by asking the Members of the Commission any changes or additions to
be placed on the Recreation Center Security Plan Checklist dated May 5, 2003, Exhibit A, to be
included for the Consultant’s benefit. He said they are not necessarily in any specific order of
importance. As many bases were covered as possible as far as computer/security needs with this
Checklist.

Revenue Report

This past month time was given to presenting the Reports in a more understandable format. The
revenue is in white; the Expense sheet is in yellow. Percentages were set up so that it could be
shown what is being done according to plan. The City’s system is set up so that information is
received on a delayed basis. The City might get the appropriation as long as two months after the
actual expenditure. The expense sheet is set up so that the amount encumbered is the amount of
Page 4
