Mr. Wetmore gave an update on the Recreation Center repairs. The Carrier unit in Tennis
has been repaired. The compressor that was leaking will be repaired by the end of the week
which will give us eight compressors up and running in time for the Ice Show.
Hot Stove will be naming field three for the founder of Hot Stove. In doing so they wanted to
be on par with the rest of the fields so we are getting signs on all five fields. Field five is being
dedicated to Nick Rouser, field two is currently Clifford Brady field which will receive a new
sign. Fields one and four have not been dedicated as of yet. North Olmsted Hot Stove came to
an agreement with Lorain County Hot Stove and North Ridgeville Hot Stove to combine their
efforts to run the teams as efficiently as possible. Since we have a better idea of the needs of
Hot Stove we will be able to rent out the fields to more teams so we should see an increase in
permit fees this year.
Mr. Wetmore stated that he and Betsy Drenski met with Captain Gallagher with regards to
communication issues that arose with the police department concerning the skate park over
the last few years. The Recreation Center perceived that calls made to the police department
concerning issues at the skate park were inconvenient to the police. Captain Gallagher told
them that was not the case and reiterated that is what they are here for. We have purchased the
best graffiti remover there is to clean up the skate park and will stay on top of if 24/7 in hoping
it will detour vandals in the future along with the cameras that were installed last November.
Mr. Ruggles commented that he had been to the North Olmsted Park and there was no grass in
the outfield on the softball field. Mr. Wetmore said in the fall North Olmsted Softball Associa-
tion paid for dirt to be put in the outfield to plant grass, unfortunately the seed did not take so we
are hoping when the weather gets better Lawnco will come back out and reseed. If needed, the
Recreation Center will reseed in the fall. Mr. Ruggles also mentioned that the two light poles
in the right and left fields are bare at the base where the concrete is and thinks there should be
some padding put in place in case someone slides into it. Mr. Wetmore said he would take care
of it.
INCOME & EXPENSE
:
Mr. Wetmore stated Gymnastic revenue is up from last year, the Pool is down a bit however
we are waiting on some invoices from the schools to be paid. Also, Miss. Figueira has created
new programs and is looking to purchase some equipment for the pool that should increase
revenue this year. The Ice Rink did very well this month, Tennis was down a little and I&T
Sports is up as well as Enrichment. Expenses are on track overall year to date.
