SPECIAL EVENT UPDATE CONT.:

Our event was very well organized this year as opposed to the last time we hosted the meet.
Erin Figueiramade sure that everything was in place so it would run smoothly. The maint-
enance staff was totally dedicated to the pool area the week before making sure everything
was in good shape.

st
A dog swim will take place on September 1 in our outdoor pool that will include animal
organizations and vendors. The summer camp program went well this year with 220
registered campers.

REC. CENTER REPAIRS / WORK UPDATE:

Ms. Drenski explained that we are still having Pool Pak issues. We are still trying to determine
who is responsible for and can fix a couple of warranty issues. The people who installed it
will not talk to us so we finally talked to Garnier Trane who sells the Pool Pak unit. They have
been somewhat helpful but even then it has been a struggle. Michael Gareau and Carrie Copfer
are aware of the situation and are making sure we get what we need done.

REVENUE / EXPENSE:

Ms. Drenski reported that with all the repair and maintenance expenses to date we needed to
transfer money to get us through the end of the year. Revenue figures are still ahead for the
year. Tennis revenue is in line even though we had the transition period the month of March
with Mike coming on board and the fall programming is looking good. Pool figures are up
from last year. With having more studio ice rental time the Rink revenue will be up as well.
Gymnastics is increasing as usual especially with it being an Olympic year.

NORTH OLMSTED PARK PARKING LOT GRANT:

Ms. Drenski informed the commission that Kim Wenger the planning director, came across
a grant similar to the grant used for the City Hall parking lot which means if you are creating
a porous surface and run off where there was not one before you would qualify for the grant.
The area affected in the park is by the volleyball and basketball courts. The plan is to have
the work started late fall. The other areas in need of repair do not qualify for grant money so
we will be looking for other means to take care of those areas in the future. Ms. Drenski stated
that Ms. Wenger is asking for the commission’s response this project. The commission made
a motion to accept the plans for the grant and the motion was passed.

In addition, Jackie Chavez-Anderson from the Senior Center is still working on a grant to fix
the walking path that goes into the woods by east park drive. She has purposed to widen it and
it would go all the way around the back by the football field and up to the Senior Center.
