Civil Service Page 2 9-90-111, 0—,11, <br />September 16 - Letter to Michael Gareau, requesting an opinion on charging <br />for civil service examinations. <br />September 16 - Letter to Mayor Christman requesting an investigation on <br />boundries for advertising and residency requirements for <br />civil service examinations. <br />September 23 - Letters sent to Chief Taylor with certified names from <br />the eligibility lists for Patrolman and Clerk -Typist. <br />Old Business: <br />The Commission finalized the review of the Recreation Center's job descriptions <br />so that the resolution of the May meeting could be finalized.' The effective <br />date of the resolution was agreed to be October 1, 1976. <br />New Business: <br />The Commission proceeded to review the results for the recent Fireman's exam- <br />ination submitted by McCann Associates. <br />Motion by Bill Coming, seconded by John Grady that the passing score be set <br />at a raw score of 80.0. <br />Passed. <br />The Commission proceeded to open the identification envelopes for the Fireman's <br />examination. The secretary was instructed to establish a certified list for <br />Fireman based on the 80 point passing mark. <br />Candidates will be notified as to their final results on the Fireman's exam. <br />The Commission instructed the secretary to advise Mayor Christman of the <br />Commission's position on part-time employment and employees. <br />The Commission discussed part time employment and agreed that Part -Time Employment <br />for the purposes of Civil Service classification shall be defined as any employee <br />who works than a total of 40 hours during any two consecutive work weeks. <br />The meeting adjourned at 10:45 p.m. Next Regular Meeting 7:30, Thursday, <br />October 28, 1976. <br />Chairman <br />cc: A.
