There were only four <br />applicants who took the last exam and only one of these was <br />successful on the exam. It is thought that the low pay for a <br />position requiring evening, weekend, and rotating shift work is <br />part of the problem. A letter will be sent to the City Council <br />expressing concern of the Commission over this matter. <br />A letter from McCann Associates regarding examinations for Chief <br />Inspector, Inspector, and Draftsman for the Engineering Department <br />was discussed. The Secretary was instructed to contact other <br />communities to determine their testing procedures for these <br />positions. Also, a letter was drafted to fir. Zurawski, City <br />Engineer, regarding minimum qualifications and testing procedures <br />for these positions. <br />
