Motion by Roger Alexander, seconded by Walter Spalding, that rule #9, subpart -//-1 , i entitle Disciplinary Suspension be amended by adding the f8TIowing words: "Notwithstanding the foregoing, an employee who is suspended for a period of at least three (3) but not more than five (5") working,days may never— theless submit a statement in writing of his objection to such suspension -to the commission within t.en..(10) days of the date on which he is notified of such suspension.Such statement shall contain reasons why the employee believes the suspens'on was improper -or excessive. In such a case the commission shall forthwith request justification'in writing from the appointing authority and -=shall consider the statement and the justifi— cation together at the next regularly scheduled meeting. The commission in its discretion may then treat the statement as an appeal properly filed on the date of the hearing or summarily dismiss it."
