It was decided that a new Use Agreement for the
physical qualifying program for police officers would be completed at this time
to take advantage of the old rate.
Attention was called to the correspondence from Mr. Petre concerning an IPA Civil
Service Law Seminar.
The correspondence from Mr. Petre, regarding firefighter applicant, Kevin Kittrick,
was discussed. Since there are no physical qualifications listed in the Ohio
Revised Code or the Rules and Regulations of the North Olmsted Civil Service
Commission, it was determined that the commission did -not have the authority to
remove Mr. Kittrick's name from the eligible list at this time. The commission
stated their willingness to consider the addition of some physical or medical
qualifications if -submitted by the Fire Chief and/or Safety Director._
Further consideration -was given to the request for a hearing for William Schneider.
The commissioners are of the opinion that the position of ground attendant is an
unclassified position.as included in the minutes of the meeting of July 6, 1972.
They also believe this was a layoff from an unclassified position due to the
change in the assignment of the duties of this position. However, Mr. Schneider
may appear before the commission on August 17, 1981 at 8:00 P.M.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 P.M.
Chairman
cc: Roger Alexander
Harry Malone
Walter Spalding
Robert Storch
Safety Director
Service Director
Secretary
Chief Taylor
Chief Van Kuren
File
