1 <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION <br />NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO <br />MTATTTM11Q <br />April 17,1984 <br />The meeting of the North Olmsted Civil Service was called to <br />order by Chairman Fhillip Huffman. In.a.ttendance was Commission= <br />er Dean Mckay. Secretary Patricia Bahas,..Fire.chief Van Kuren <br />and Commissioner Paul Gareau were also in attendance. Also <br />present was Fire Capt. Gettens. <br />Approval of Minutes <br />The minutes of the March 27th meeting were approved as read. <br />See attached sheet. <br />Correspondence <br />Old Business <br />Fire Lt.'s Promotional Test <br />The secretary heard and recorded the comments and decisions of <br />the Commissioners regarding the nine questions and answers of the <br />test. Seven of the nine challenges were upheld and supported <br />by the Commission. A discussion then ensued regarding both <br />the security and content of the promotional tests. Mr. Gareau <br />felt that a different test might be more suitable. Chief Van Kuren <br />pointed out that this test seemed more pertenant to the actual <br />reponsibilities of the North Olmsted Fire Dept. Although the read- <br />ing list was already out for the Asst. Fire Chief, the secretary <br />was directed to see if other tests could be investigated for <br />
