In attendance were Dean McKay,
Don Herman, Gene Petre and Sandi es er e d.
MINUTES:
The minutes of the regular meeting of -June 27 and the special meeting of July 10
were approved as read.
RECREATION COMPLEX:
After some discussion regarding the positions of Head Cashier and Concession
Supervisor, Secretary. Westerfeld was instructed to request Mr. Couts to attend
the next meeting.
SERVICE DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEE:
It carne to the attention of the Commission that Lynn Schirmer was hired under
Service & Weed Control but was performing clerical duties which are classified
as Civil Service. A letter was send to Mr. Corrigan requesting information
regarding the hiring of Lynn Schirmer and exactly what duties she is performing.
The Commission, unsatisfied with Mr. Corrigan's response, requested Secretary
Westerfeld to have Mr. Corrigan at the next meeting. Mr. Petre stated that she
is in the office about once a week and performs some clerical work for Engineering
and some clerical work for Cloe (Mr. Petre's secretary)'. Mr. McKay stated that
we must follow the rules of the State if we do not have a rule of our own to cover
any specific question.
REQUEST FOR REVIEW:
Mr. Charles Ingrassia requested a review of the Commission regarding being removed
from the Firefighter's certified list because of failure to pass the visual exam.
The Commission reviewed Mr. Ingrassia's enclosure which was a letter from his
eye doctor. The Commission ruled that Mr. Ingrassia does not pass the visual
standard of 20/40 uncorrected vision required, and also pointed out that we are
now operating from a new certified list for Firefighters and that Mr. Ingrassia's
request for review came approximately.six months after he was removed from the
list.
