s <br />MINUTES = REGULAR MEETING <br />July 23, 1987 <br />Page #2 <br />OLD BUSINESS: <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT: <br />Test for Police Sergeant was held on July 15, 1987 at the High School. <br />Nineteen candidates were tested for this position that evening <br />and results of the test will be reviewed by the commissioners at the <br />August meeting. The commission will notify all candidates promptly. <br />Letter sent to Chief Marsh requesting that letters of intent to take a <br />test be forwarded to the candidates by civil service. The receipt of <br />these notices will enable the commission to maintain a current count of <br />candidates interested in testing. Chief Marsh acknowledged receipt of <br />the,letter and stated the department would be willing to comply with the <br />request. <br />CITY CLERK WRITTEN EXAMINATION: <br />Commission members opened the envelopes identifying the participants in <br />the City Clerk test given by the commission on June 30, 1987. Three of <br />the candidates were brought forward from the previous certified list. <br />Twelve candidates passed this examination and will be notified of the <br />date and time for the typing test which will be given August 12th at the <br />high school. After this list is established, and candidates certified <br />and ranked, the commission will notify the mayor and interview <br />procedures can commence for the position at the Senior Center. <br />SENIOR CENTER PERSONNEL: <br />Military credit for the clerk at the Senior Center was disucssed and a <br />request for same was studied by the commission. The commission will ask <br />for a legal opinion on this matter. <br />NORTH OLMSTED SCHOOLS: <br />Mr. James Kline, Director of Personnel, notified that there is an <br />established list of certified, ranked civil service candidates for the <br />Secretary I position within the North Olmsted City Schools. Mrs. Lynn <br />Lesick, the secretary in the position at the present time scored second <br />on the written examination and will be permanently placed in this <br />position. The certified list will be current for a period of two years. <br />SCHOOL BUS MECHANIC: <br />The commission will schedule a meeting with Mr. Kline, Mr. Leonard <br />Frick, Director of Transportation to go over testing materials. <br />
