Chief Marsh was invited <br />into the discussions. <br />Meeting resumed 4:35 P.M. <br />A meeting between commissioners, Mr. Tom Stroh and Mr. Bob Wendt with <br />the North Olmsted City School personnel, Mr. James Kline and Mr. Len <br />Frick re the up -coming mechanic test was discussed. It was the feeling <br />of both commissioners and the board that this test could be accomplished <br />"in-house" and the commission informed as to procedures and results of <br />this.examination. <br />CITY CLERK TEST: <br />Results of the City Clerk test were submitted. Three candidates were <br />brought forward from the former active certified list and their grades <br />were computed, by the testing company., into the new ranked list of <br />candidates. Nine candidates took the written examination on June 30, <br />1987 and six appeared for thetyping test on August 12th. Those not. <br />appearing were removed from the active candidate list. Final results of <br />this test: 3 candidates exempt; 3 passed the examination and 3 failed <br />the testing. Letters of "Intent" were mailed.to the passing six <br />candidates alerting them of a present job opening and their desire of an <br />interview. One candidates.requested her name be removed from the active <br />list, three were not interested at this time and two.declared interest <br />in the interview.process-. Names of the interested candidates will be <br />forwarded to the mayor. <br />NEW BUSINESS: <br />Discussion on a letter on behalf of the employee at the Senior Center <br />from Far Vest was discussed. Letter forwarded to the Far Vest advising <br />them that a candidate has to pass an examination before consideration of <br />the commission can be given. This fact was reinforced by the law <br />director in his letter of August 14, 1987. <br />MEETING OF COMMISSIONERS WITH MAYOR PETRIGAC: <br />Commissioners met with the mayor to discuss. the relocation of the office <br />of civil service during the renovation of the -Town Hall. It was felt <br />that, with the permission of the Clerk of Council, Florence Campbell, :'we <br />might -be sable to use the extra desk in her office. <br />
