CITY OF NORTH OLNASTED CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO .max CIVIL SERV.ICE-MEETING - May 25, 1989 - Town Hall - 4:30 P.M. Present: Chairman, Thomas Stroh and Member, Madeline Brookshire. Absent: Member, Robert Wendt Guest: Fire Chief Van Kuren Meeting called to order at 4:50 P. -M. Minutes of the previous meeting approved as submitted. Old Business: Fire Chief Van Kuren was informed by the commission that 20 of the top 25 -candidates for the Firefighter/Paramedic position were present on Satu.rday, May 20, 1989 for'the physical agil-ity test. The commission wa-s requested by Police Chief Marsh to forward the names -of the Lieutenant and.Sergeant achieving the highest rank on the recently administered promotional test. New Business: The commission received a communication from Mayor Petri.gac stating that Mr.s. Sandy P-ulice will be Mayo.r's secretary. This position is not covered -under civil service. Commission members approved payment of $35.00 to James Andrews, Head Custodian at the high school, for assisting in the physical agility test on May 20th. The commission reviewed a letter sent by Ar. James Kline, North Olmsted City Schools, with respect 'to -a new position - Maintenance Foreman. Mr. Kline also attached a copy of'the job description covering this position. The schools would like this position to b.e considered as non-competitive. The commission.agreed to consider this position as such -IF -the commission secretary, after,a thorough review, fails to locate an ap'prop'riate test for Maintenance Foreman. The commission will commurricate with Mr. Kline re this matter. A brief review of the minutes of the North Olmsted School Board meeting of May 8, 1989 was made along with the contract between_.AFS.CME and the Board. No further business.'
