CITY OF NORTH OLNASTED <br />CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION <br />NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO <br />.max <br />CIVIL SERV.ICE-MEETING - May 25, 1989 - Town Hall - 4:30 P.M. <br />Present: Chairman, Thomas Stroh and Member, Madeline Brookshire. <br />Absent: Member, Robert Wendt <br />Guest: Fire Chief Van Kuren <br />Meeting called to order at 4:50 P. -M. <br />Minutes of the previous meeting approved as submitted. <br />Old Business: <br />Fire Chief Van Kuren was informed by the commission that 20 of the top <br />25 -candidates for the Firefighter/Paramedic position were present on <br />Satu.rday, May 20, 1989 for'the physical agil-ity test. <br />The commission wa-s requested by Police Chief Marsh to forward the <br />names -of the Lieutenant and.Sergeant achieving the highest rank on <br />the recently administered promotional test. <br />New Business: <br />The commission received a communication from Mayor Petri.gac stating <br />that Mr.s. Sandy P-ulice will be Mayo.r's secretary. This position is <br />not covered -under civil service. <br />Commission members approved payment of $35.00 to James Andrews, Head <br />Custodian at the high school, for assisting in the physical agility <br />test on May 20th. <br />The commission reviewed a letter sent by Ar. James Kline, North Olmsted <br />City Schools, with respect 'to -a new position - Maintenance Foreman. <br />Mr. Kline also attached a copy of'the job description covering this <br />position. The schools would like this position to b.e considered as <br />non-competitive. The commission.agreed to consider this position as <br />such -IF -the commission secretary, after,a thorough review, fails to <br />locate an ap'prop'riate test for Maintenance Foreman. The commission <br />will commurricate with Mr. Kline re this matter. <br />A brief review of the minutes of the North Olmsted School Board <br />meeting of May 8, 1989 was made along with the contract between_.AFS.CME <br />and the Board. <br />No further business.' <br />Meeting adjourned at 5:25 P.M. <br />Thomas troh,.
