CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION <br />NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO <br />CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING - OCTOBER 26, 1989 <br />Present: Mr. Tom Stroh, Chairman; Mr. Robert Wendt, <br />Secretary. Absent: Member Madeline Brookshire. <br />Member; Peg Hill, <br />Minutes of the previous meeting approved as presented. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />The secretary reported to the commissioners that candidates to be tested <br />on November 11, 1989 for physical agility understand they are to arrive <br />at the school gym at 8:00 A.M. and the testing will begin shortly there- <br />after in an effort to release the area for a school function. <br />Mr. Russ Bierman will administer the eye test as Mrs. Brookshire will be <br />unable to attend the exercise. The head custodian of the high school, <br />Mr. Jim Andrews, will also assist the commissioners in the testing <br />process. Mr. Wendt will also check to make sure the equipment needed <br />for one of the tests is secured. He will check with the fire chief. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />TESTING COMPANY: <br />The secretary contacted the testing company, McCann Associates, and <br />asked them to review the upcoming captain's test to make sure the <br />questions asked were not recently asked in another test. <br />HEARING: <br />The hearing for Michael Butera has been continued and all parties have <br />been notified. <br />QUORUM: <br />The subject of what constitutes a quorum of the commission was <br />discussed. The commissioners decided to take this matter up again at <br />the next meeting of the commission when all commissioners were present. <br />PROMOTIONAL EXAMINATIONS: <br />Referring to page five, F3 -A adding language... participants shall have <br />the right to support the protest with any reference material of their <br />choice. After a promotional test is administered the commissioner will <br />make the statement that they now can request a review of the test, and <br />this fact could be repeated again in the letter to the participant <br />showing the score achieved. A "pulled" copy of the rule governing <br />promotional tests could be forwarded with the letter to those tested. <br />Chairman also requested a change on item C on page 5 to read - "Right of <br />Inspection and Protest". <br />The secretary will revise page #5 of the Rules & Regulations and <br />distribute same. <br />(see page 2) <br />
