AD CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO 00000 CIVIL SERVICE MEETING: October 25, 1990 PRESENT: Chairman Robert Wendt, Commissioners Henry Robinson and Alan Kovelan, Secretary Tracy Ice GUEST: Safety Director Ernest Gundy MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED AS READ, OLD BUSINESS Status of getting a night line for the civil service office. As of this time, the people who set up the night lines have been notified but have not been out to set one up in the civil service office. Linda Spencer will call these people again and try and find out when they will be out to set up the night line. After our September meeting, Tracy Ice sent out letters to nine other testing companies who specializes in promotional examinations and asked them to send her any brochures on their company telling us of their procedures, pricing, turn around time etc. As -of our, October meeting all but two testing companies had responded. Therefore the commissioners decided to wait until our next meeting in November to decide,:'when a special meeting should be scheduled to review the different testing companies.(.hopefully the other two testing companies will have responded by then). The Fire Lieutenant's results from McCann Associates have been received and the Civil Service Comr�ission will open these envelopes tonight after our meeting. The candidates Wi-11- then be mailed a letter telling themif they passed or failed the examination. A review of this examination is scheduled for November 12, 1990 at 2:00 pm at the Old Town Hall. All candidates are welcome to attend and can bring any manuals etc. that they would like. The Police Lieutenant's examination is scheduled for November 12, 1990 at 9:30 am inthe police department=s conference room. NEW BUSINESS The commission received a letter from Chief Sefcek with regard to an applicant who took the entrance level police test and who moved out of town. The Chief would like the civil service department tocontacthim-and have Mm come in for a badkground investigation of if he does not show up the civil service will either pass h.im over (,if he advises us that this is what he wants us to do) or remove him from the list (if we do not hear from h.im either way -).,.The police department and the civil service department f.i s had' some: p.eoMems _with,.th.is per_so.n . to confirm a time when he will be in town. Tracy Ice will send him a letter on October 26, 1990 advising him of his options,
