CIVIL SERVICE MEETING MINUTES
DECEMBER 19, 1994
PAGE 2
NEW BUSINESS
Chief Osterhouse and Chief Sefcek feels that our vision requirement is
too hard. Therefore, the Commission is now looking into lowering our
vision standards. Tracy Ice will get copies of other vision
requirements from other cities and at our next meeting we are hoping
that Chief Sefcek and Chief Osterhouse will be able to attend so that
we can discuss this issue.
Civil Service was asked to give two 5 minute timings to the girls
who had applied to replace Chas Cummings in the Building Department.
These girls are already employees of our City. The Commission
discussed with Carolyn Kasler on whether we should put an error limit
on this test. Carolyn said NO that Mr. Conway and herself just wanted
to be sure that the person that they hire for that position can type
because typing is necessary for the job. Tracy Ice was asked to
circle the errors on the typing test and write down their speed and
then to give the typing tests to Carolyn Kasler. This test was given
December 20, 1994.
ADJOURNMENT
As there were no other issues to be brought before the Commission, the
meeting adjourned at 7:55 pm. Our next Civil Service Meeting is
scheduled for MONDAY, JANUARY 16, 1995 at 7:OU pm at TOWN HALL.
Chairman, Jim Hines Secretar , Tracy Ice
