v
CIVIL SERVICE MEETING MINUTES
MARCH 185, 1996
PAGE 2.
OLD BUSINESS
Secretarial Test Status - We will use Cooperative Personnel Services
test #3126.. Tentative date is June 3, 1996. The cabin has been
reserved and Lois Zol-ar will be the tester.
Should credit be added to scores after written or after oral exam.? In
the past, we added the points in after the oral for the Police. Chief
Osterhouse sounded as though he felt that some credit should be given
'after the written because 25 candidates are taking the written and
probably only 6 will move on to take the assessment. The Chief says
that the Fire Department is different from the Police Department. We
may only have one or two large fires a'year where seniority is
important so that they can get the experience.' The Commission felt
that whatever will be decided that it should be the same for the
Police and Fire. Jim Hines will call -Chief Vio.la'and see how the
extra credit worked out for the Police Department when added in after
the written exam. Jim Hines said Ahat the commission will think this
over and a decision will be made at our next meeting.
Civil Service's Rules and Regulations Handbook went out on
March 1, 1996.
PROMOTIONAL FIRE EXAMS.
Lieutenant Exam.
The WRITTEN EXAM. will be given on April 20, 1996 at the new fire
station. A RANDOM DRAWING
OF WHAT TIME THE CANDIDATES WILL TAKE -THEIR ORAL PORTION OF THE TEST
WILL BE DONE AFTER THE WRITTEN RESULTS ARE SENT OUT.
The ORAL EXAM. will be given on May 11, 1996 at the new fire station.
This test will be worth 300.
Captain Exam.
The WRITTEN EXAM. will be given on April 20, 1996,at the new fire
station.
