V. NEW BUSINESS:
B) Two candidates are tied for the 25 spot after taking the written portion of the police officer's .
examination: both had a score of 93, with no extra point preference; neither one is a veteran; both
filed their applications March 17 at 9:45 A.M.; both completed their test at 9:13 P.M.; both signed
their applications March 17, 1997; and therefore a coin toss by the Civil Service Commission will
be required to determine their ranking (Rule I -G 5-a, page 10 of the Rules and Regulations
manual). The two tied candidates have been informed that the commission will toss a coin on May
19, 1997 at 7:00 P.M. to determine their ranking. Prior to the coin toss it was determined that Mr.
Wagner would be heads and Mr. McGee tails. Chairman Cummings flipped the coin and verified it
was heads. Mr. Wagner won the coin toss and is ranked 25th and Mr. McGee will be ranked 26th.
E. Cummings motioned to certify the eligibility list as the rankings are finalized. The motion was
seconded by L. Zolar and unanimously approved. Motion carried.
X. ADJOURNMENT:
The meeting was adjourned at 9:15 P.M.
63
E. Cummings,
A. Cornish, Assistant Clerk of Commissions
