V. NEW BUSINESS: <br />B) Two candidates are tied for the 25 spot after taking the written portion of the police officer's . <br />examination: both had a score of 93, with no extra point preference; neither one is a veteran; both <br />filed their applications March 17 at 9:45 A.M.; both completed their test at 9:13 P.M.; both signed <br />their applications March 17, 1997; and therefore a coin toss by the Civil Service Commission will <br />be required to determine their ranking (Rule I -G 5-a, page 10 of the Rules and Regulations <br />manual). The two tied candidates have been informed that the commission will toss a coin on May <br />19, 1997 at 7:00 P.M. to determine their ranking. Prior to the coin toss it was determined that Mr. <br />Wagner would be heads and Mr. McGee tails. Chairman Cummings flipped the coin and verified it <br />was heads. Mr. Wagner won the coin toss and is ranked 25th and Mr. McGee will be ranked 26th. <br />E. Cummings motioned to certify the eligibility list as the rankings are finalized.
