Department in the Tennis court area. The clerk went over the duties of what the board members would be doing at the Firefighters test, as monitors. J. Thomay made a motion to nominate E. Cummings to be the tester for the written Firefighters entry level test. The motion was seconded by L. Zolar and unanimously approved. D). In what manner would the Civil Service board like to address the recommended changes in the North Olmsted Civil Service hand book, who would the board like to see be invited to these meetings in which the proposed changes will be discussed in detail. Mr. Cummings asked the clerk to find out when the Ohio Paramedic classes as well as the Ohio Peace Officertraining classes graduate. So the board can schedule the testing dates accordingly. He would also like to add a copying fee for any Civil Service documents requested including minutes. Mr. Cummings directed the clerk to contact the following individuals, Mayor Musial, Law Director, Safety Director, Fire Chief, Police Chief and the Union representatives for Fire and Police. He would like their opinion concerning new employees (i.e. Firefighter/Police) being allowed to bring their seniority points earned from other Civil Service departments outside North Olmsted to their new position with the City of North Olmsted. Mr. Cummings commented if we address this matter in our hand book we can choose what will and will not be allowed, but if this issue is not addressed then we must go by the state book. Mr. Cummings asked the clerk to speak to Personal Director J. Popa concerning updating the Civil Service list, i.e. who is classified and who is unclassified, so the Civil Service list can be brought up to date. He would also like Mrs. Popa's opinion on what type of secretary test she would like to see implemented. The clerk stated she had spoken to Mrs. Pop about the classified list and August would be a good month for both of them to get together and work on in. E. Cummings motioned to include to chapter 1 section 4 number 7 of the Civil Service hand book a rate for requested copies of any Civil Service documents including minutes. He would like to have the new wording submitted at the June meeting, and will vote on it at that time. The motion was seconded by L. Zolar and unanimously approved. E. Cummings motioned to include review of the Civil Service rules and regulations hand book on the June 15, 1998 agenda, at which time any and all recommendations should be received. The motion was seconded by L. Zolar and unanimously approved. E. Cummings motioned to cancel the July and August meeting dates, to use this time as the boards vacation break. The motion was seconded by J. Thomay and unanimously approved. X ADJOURNMENT: E. Cummings moved to close the meeting. The motion was seconded by J. Thomay and unanimously approved.
