CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />"TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!" <br />SPECIAL MEETING OF <br />SPECIAL CIVIL, SERVICE COMMISSION <br />MINUTES AUGUST 30, 2000 <br />8:30AM <br />I. ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman, Thomay called the meeting to order at 8:30am. <br />PRESENT: Chairman, J. Thomay, and board member P. Farrell. <br />ABSENT: Board member, L. Zolar. <br />ALSO PRESENT: Civil Service Secretary, D. Rote and Assistant Civil Service Secretary, S. <br />Solomon. <br />]I. DISPOSITION OF MINUTES: No Items. <br />III. . REPORTS: No Items <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS: No Items. <br />V. NEW BUSINESS: <br />A) The Commission needs to certify the results of the entry level Fire Fighters written exam. <br />Commissioners' J. Thomay and P. Farrell reviewed the results of the written examination that was <br />administered August 17, 2000. The top ranking score was 91% and the lowest score was 55%. It.. <br />was noted, that the last entry level exam only had 6 candidates that failed the test and this test had <br />26 candidates whom failed. Discussion took place as to how many students ranked in the top 25, <br />and how many candidates are to be invited to take the agility test. The clerk reviewed that the <br />results of the written test would be sent out to the candidates the next day and the top 38 candidates <br />would be invited to take the agility test. , The top 38 ranking candidates will have their results and <br />invitation for the agility test sent certified, so that the required two-week response time can be <br />tracked. Mr. Thomay questioned what date the agility test would be given. The clerk reviewed <br />that the agility test would have to be administered on a Sunday, as the testing instructor would only <br />be available on Sundays. She is trying to set-up a date and time with the High School; the <br />commissioners will be informed of the date as soon as it is set. No further comments were made. <br />J. Thomay motioned to accept the results of the Cooperative Personnel Services written test. The <br />motion was seconded by P. Farrell and unanimously approved. <br />X ADJOURNMENT: <br />J. Thomay motioned to close the meeting and excuse the absences of L. Zolar. The motion was <br />seconded by P. Farrell and unanimously approved.
