Mr.
Ubaldi would like Commission to have the right amount of certifications per candidate: Mike Fusco
(5th certification), Shaun Kasza (4th certification), Michael Cipriano (2nd certification), Todd
Skinner (2nd certification) and Anthony Hyatt (1St certification) to the Shular vacancy.
Mr. Ubaldi made a motion to certify the names for Ted Shular's vacancy and forward to the
Safety Director information on the following names on the Firefighters Entry -Level Eligibility
List: Michael Fusco, Shaun Kasza, Michael Cipriano, Todd Skinner and Anthony Hyatt. Mr. Hohmann seconded the motion and unanimously approved.
Mr. O'Malley suggested to issue a memo to the appointing authority thanking them for the
notification of vacancies and in response to your request, certify five (5) names. Mr. Hohmann
inquired if a letter should be sent to the candidates who have their 5th certification. Mr. O'Malley
suggested that the candidate(s) should be notified that they have been certified five (5) times and
under the Rules and Regulations they have been disqualified and will be removed from the list.
This can be done voluntarily or the Commission can remove their name and will be set for hearing
at the next meeting. Mr. Ubaldi indicated to wait until the candidate is passed over and then remove
for cause. A general discussion followed concerning the Firefighters Entry -Level Eligibility List,
ranking per vacancy, number of certifications marked, notifying the appointing authority of certified
candidates; voluntary removal and certifying another name at a special meeting; interview
candidates; passed over candidates.
