CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING <br />MAYOR'S CONFERENCE ROOM <br />MINUTES - OCTOBER 16, 2006 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />I. ROLL CALL: Chairman M. Ubaldi called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. <br />PRESENT: M. Ubaldi and W. Hohmann <br />ALSO PRESENT: Assistant Law Director B. O'Malley, Civil Service Secretary Donna Eccleston <br />II. DISPOSITION OF MINUTES: <br />The Civil Service minutes dated September 18, 2006 and October 10, 2006 have been submitted <br />for approval. <br />Mr. Ubaldi made a motion to accept the minutes with the amended times for the minutes <br />dated October 10, 2006. Mr. Hohmann seconded the motion and unanimously approved. <br />III. COMMUNICATIONS: <br />There were 7 items of correspondence received and S items of correspondence sent out by the <br />Civil Service Commission. <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS: <br />Various Business Related to Entry -Level and Promotional Examinations <br />A general discussion was conducted concerning the Promotional Examination and Entry -Level <br />Examinations; responding testing companies and their qualifications; competitive bidding; retaining <br />Ramsey & Associates for all testing; test date for other promotional ranks at the Police Department; <br />conduct Entry -Level Police and Fire examinations in early 2007; review information received for <br />the Assistant Fire Chief examination at the next meeting; eligible candidates for promotions; letters <br />of intent for the Promotional Police Captain's test; forecast to Ramsey & Associates for the <br />upcoming tests; St. Clarence Hall for the Entry -Level examinations; Cuyahoga Community College <br />Agility Test; 2007 Budget. <br />V. NEW BUSINESS: <br />Mr. Ubaldi discussed the position of the Youth Services Administrator. The old title for this <br />position was the Assistant Director of Community Life Services. The job title is the only thing that <br />has been changed; therefore, the position should remain classified. <br />Mr. Ubaldi made a motion to designate the Youth Services Administrator's position as <br />classified. Mr. Hohmann seconded the motion and unanimously approved. <br />
