A general discussion followed concerning the weights for written (75%) and oral (25%); 30 day <br />posting period; 35 — 40 candidates; testing locations; testing company's agreement Option choices; <br />Oral Interview versus Oral Assessment with 40 candidates; limit candidates with the highest scores <br />on the written to participate in the Oral Assessment; Chairman to preview the testing results prior to <br />the meeting; extra credit chart for each rank; candidates must pass the written examination (70%) in <br />order to proceed with the oral assessment; consult with the testing company regarding the number <br />of candidates for the oral assessment, dates for the written and oral assessment before March 3, <br />2007; inquire how patrolmen shifts are handled regarding participation in the examination; <br />efficiency and seniority extra points are added at the end of the oral assessment. <br />Mr. Ubaldi made a motion to finalize necessary details between now and the next meeting for <br />the purposes of holding a Promotional Police Sergeant Examination. Mr. Hohmann seconded <br />the motion and unanimously approved. <br />V. NEW BUSINESS: <br />Address Business Related to the Police and Fire Entry -Level Examination <br />SEi+n[0.C&' Zack <br />The Commission should be fl with the steps involved when conducting the Police and <br />Fire Entry-level examinations. A general discussion followed concerning the calendar for 2004 <br />Police Entry -Level Examination. The Commission did receive a proposal for the Firefighters <br />Entry -Level Examination; however, the Commission did not request proposals for the Police Entry - <br />Level Examination. A general discussion followed concerning the cost for the Firefighters Entry - <br />Level Examination; pre-employment testing; timing without legislation; review of all documents <br />from the last entry-level examination; set location and testing company dates; testing in mid to late <br />March; deadline; preparation of application packet; limit to 200 applications returned; date/time <br />stamped on returned applications; review applications; incomplete applications; 60 day window for <br />Tri -C Agility Test. <br />VI. ADJOURNMENT: Mr. Ubaldi made a motion to adjourn at 8:45 pm.
